True West
I'm hanging my thesis exhibition this week, opening this Friday the 9th from 5-8pm. Stop by if you're in Rochester. Over the weekend I uploaded the new work to my website, give it a look if you want a sneak preview of the show (or if you can't make it and the only way to see the work is online).

After a 3-4 month hiatus with sporadic internet access, I'm back at it. I've been traveling throughout the West all summer photographing in an effort to complete my thesis by Thanksgiving. If your in the Rochester area in October, be sure to stop by my thesis show!

wallace stegner

here is a nice little nytimes piece on the late wallace stegner. stegner's writing has been instrumental in laying a foundation for my research on the american west. if you live in the west or have ever lived there, wallace stegner should be at the top of your reading list.

next blog>>

so a while back my friend zak started his next blog with a simple premise, every couple days he goes to said blog, hits the next blog button and posts the results. i happen to think this is a brilliant idea. i've always been quite curious myself about the purpose of the next blog button and it seems zak has found a nice way to put it to good use. and i love peeking in on the results. it seems to be a great comment on how dependent we have become worldwide on the blog world as a form of communication, but zak presents it in a simple way that also points to the absurdity and humor behind the whole situation. i definitely recommend you check it out.
on a side note... i wonder if he's ever run across the same blog twice?
